I'm back from my volunteer work at the Sony Open and really missed doing my art work.  I am way behind in the Let's Draw course.  Germa must be done by now!

Today, I did a pencil sketch of a lotus flower/leaves for an oil painting I plan to do soon.  I'm amazed that it came out this well since I was drawing it while riding the bus to Honolulu.

Hopefully, the oil painting will look better than the drawing.  I'll do it next in watercolor as a test piece.

Welcome back, we missed you! We were just talking about you the other day. We weren't sure if we'd seen you on TV as there was nobody on the 16th with an easel or a sketch pad.
Looks like the bus might become your new studio if your sketches always come out this well.
Nice drawing.

Mahalo, Brian.

I can see huge leaps in my drawing skills.   I never would have attempted a sketch like this - any sketch, for that matter -  a year ago.

Mea....Terrific start...can hardly wait to see what you present with brush and paint.

I have a question...well, two, really.  LOL
I was doing jig saw puzzles yesterday and saw the most beautiful pictures..."Thor's Well on Kauaii, and Kalalau Beach..I don't know where that one is....have you been or seen them?  They are awesome. Thor's Well takes your breath away. What a picture to paint.

Thanks, Bella.  I am really enjoying learning to draw!

Thor's Well is actually in Oregon.  I had to Google it because I had never heard of it.  It's gorgeous!

I have been to Kauai twice (I live on Oahu).  I have seen the beautiful Na Pali Coast but have never hiked to Kalalau Beach.  Hey, folks, take a peek.

Dennis, Jennylynn, Val, Germa, Scribe

Thanks for checking out my lotus drawing and commenting.

I do a lot of sketching on the bus as I have lots of time - minimum one hour each way on days I travel to Honolulu.  I have a collection of the back of peoples' heads!!

Thank you for the correction, Mea. The caption was for Hawaii for Thor's Well.

Your 'doodles' and bus-ride notams are great.....Good for you.

O0  Mea,  your lotus drawing is excellent.  Thank you for posting the link to those beautiful pictures.  Some of them remind me of the Western Cape in South Africa which is also so beautiful.   Patricia
