Thank you Nolan!  :thankyou:  Yeah, the colours looked amazing when I snapped this photo using iPhone 4S at Southport on a road called 'Rotten Row'! Strange name for such a beautiful place full of colour in the border.
I'm looking forward to using digital painting more and I want to do more modifications like I did on the blurring of this flower background. More impressionistic expression of photo images I've got or will take. I like the Impasto look and vibrant colours and want to use that technique for further works.
 ;)

It's surprisingly easy to do once you've learned the methods! Digital Art is an additional form of art that builds on the skills people learn through the Paint Basket lessons.
Having looked at Digital Art and spent lots of time analysing the software available as well as apps, I've determined that it was worth the time jumping onto this bandwagon in order to give me more convenient processes.
I've got a long way to go to be able to display good quality works. Here is my latest endeavour. My heart's not in this one but, I started it so I best finish it and try to make it acceptable at finish!

Ah! Lillian!  :1hug: Thank you  :-*
I started this just as a trial on a different app (application software) on my iPad 3. I didn't really intend to make it serious but, having spent the only spare time I had today, I'll continue to try make it something pleasing.

I'm trying to build a project storyline in my minds eye and then bring it into reality but, my imagination runs wild and the images I see are beyond my ability to know how to get them on 'canvas' (digital)! That's why I'm trialling a few apps. Different methods and functions that allow ways to develop my intentions.
I'm gonna do more this eve but, I'm tired after yet another week of Sue's snoring and a puppy to entertain like a demanding baby!  >:D :2funny:

I've played around with digital art, Logo's etc. There are two good free programs you can try for your PC.

Paint.NET  http://www.getpaint.net/
and
InkScape  http://inkscape.org/en/

Paint.NET has a real good support forum

and InkScape has all kinds of support by it's users. I've watched and did most of the lessons  by  Richard Querin and heathenx on  http://screencasters.heathenx.org/

If you really like doing it you may want to get a Wacom http://www.wacom.com

I don't have anything I can post all of my digital art is on my old PC that's in storage.

I still use Paint.NET and InkScape now and then for graphics. If I'm in the mood, but I never use them. I just like doing it now and then for something different to do.

Ah! Val  ;D   Ya know what, there is some reality in that. Seriously, I've not done much art recently because of not being in the mood after feeling so bogged down with the Dog. Our whole lives seem to revolve round it and, despite it being so cute and enhancing Sue's maternal 'furry child' need, I wish we hadn't have got it. I don't want to sound so mean but, it's really got me down. On top of that, Sue's snoring keeps me from sleeping.  :(

Anyway, rant aside, I have managed to do a bit more on the Butterfly when I got the chance and mood to do so. I'll post a pic of the completed work as soon as I get the flower finished. I've done the background and finished the Butterfly now.

At last! I've finished my digital painting of the 'Butterfly'. (The Butterfly is feeding on a Buddleia flower).
This took me ages 'cos I was trialling different techniques while trying to remember digital theory to practical.
I blurred out the background and parts of the flower area in order to focus on the Butterfly.
I can't say I enjoyed this. My patience wasn't there and I got frustratingly bored on the white flowers. Despite that, I've tried to make it an acceptable outcome.
I'm just uploading a video that shows how this was made. I'll post it tomorrow.
