I don't seem to understand this Fixative or doing something wrong. I bought a can of Primeart Fixative. I have sprayed it on the pastel drawing as per Dennis's demonstration, but the pastel still comes off when I put my hand on it. Must it do that or am I understanding this wrong

Maryna, For pastels one is not supposed to spray it such that absolutely no pastel will come off. This you can do before the last part of the painting.

If the fixative is sprayed on too heavily then it will darken up the painting and spoil the effect you have.
Basically the fixative is sprayed on very lightly at the end just enough so that no extra loose dust will fall off in the frame during handling.

That is why I said to protect the pastel painting with a sheet of tracing paper.
I will handle all these problems during the lessons next year.
