Thank you, Nolan.  I'm really enjoying the course so far and was pleasantly surprised on my first drawing.  Everyone has been so encouraging in the forums.  I'm looking forward to what lies ahead and seeing how I improve.  Thanks for all your hard work and for doing this course.

Blessings,
Brian

Here's my tonal chart.  The middle line doesn't seem to transitions smoothly.  The final line did, though.  Any thoughts on if I should laminate it?  The place I took it to said it would brighten the colors.  I didn't know if that would be a problem.  Should I put it in a page protector sleeve instead?  Nolan, what are your thoughts or suggestions.  Thanks!

To get the transitions, etc right takes practice. Don't be shy to do the tonal chart exercise a few times. It will serve you well for the rest of your drawing life that is how important it is.

Once you are happy. Then go ahead and laminate it. Alternatively you can print out your Pencil Finder and use that tonal chart there  O0

Here's my first attempt at a shaded ball.  Not the best, but I did more.

Here's my 2nd attempt at the shaded ball.  I feel this one is much better.

Here's my attempt at the extra assignment with the reflective ball.  Not round, but I didn't catch that until it was too late.  I may try this one again.

You showed improvement with each ball Brian, that's success!  Do you see how much rounder the 3rd ball looks due to the darker shading?  Build those darks for the contrast (it's my new mantra)! ;)
