You're right, Ray!  With 4 beautiful grand dogs, I will be collecting their photos and will try to draw/paint the dogs.  But first I have to go through the drawing course as Nolan recommended!

Liz & Nina, I am warning you, once you start, you won't be able to put it down.  I have one and a half more segments to watch in order to complete the course and I am just LOVING it.  Now that I have found the reference picture, I want to go back and do it for the picture I drew is not the reference picture.  Looking so forward to seeing your drawings.  Patricia

I was really tempted to get this course, but talked myself out of it.  You have talked me back in!

Regarding the "Blue Tack," in USA they don't put the blue in, so it's just a gray putty that is used to stick up stuff on the wall. 3M makes some, and there are other manufacturers too, - just look around. It's like a sticky kneaded eraser.

Dear, dear Bev, thanks so much for your lovely comments about my first drawing of the dog.  You have no idea how excited I am that you are signing up for this course. It is really going to seem like old times with the "gang" being back together ... we just have to wait for Sarah now and then it will be complete.   :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Alice, you are such an   always there to help in any way you can.  I really appreciate you.   Bless you and thanks for that information about the Blue Tack.  I will be out and about tomorrow searching for something similar.  So pleased that you have signed up for the course too.

Jennylynn  :thankyou:  for your compliments and I am thrilled that you too have signed up for this course and yes, it is just so exciting to be able to learn everything we can. I think next year is going to be a bumper year for us in every way and I am looking forward to it.

Once you have permission to use a photo as a reference, you can 'base' your drawing/painting on that photo. It doesn't have to be identical. Your work will have some differences unless you are into super realism.

GOT IT, Val!  I guess that's 'artistic license', right?  Actually I did only one painting where I asked permission to use the photo.  It is the old historic bridge in my gallery shot by a local professional photographer.  It looks almost exactly the same except for the top of the bridge where I decided not to paint in the graffiti. Thanks so much for your support and patience in clarifying stuff for me.   :flowers: FYI, my pencils have been chiseled and I'm starting my lessons!
