On Dec. 7, my husband will be exhibiting/selling his wood turnings and has said I can have a small table for my paintings along with his things.  What if I sell more than he does!!!!!

Here's the link to his things: https://sites.google.com/site/earlelongwoodturner/

I will make some watercolor postcards (Strathmore - 15 in a pack at Ben Franklin Crafts) of some famous land marks around Hawaii.  If they sell, great.  If they don't, I'll mail them to my friends.

I ordered some mats, backs, and bags from Clear Bags this week.  They arrived in three days.  Good quality.  Very fair price.  I'm pleased to have some professional looking things to display my 5 x 7 watercolors.

I'll be busy getting things ready for the show, so no time for the monthly challenge this month.

Oh Mea, take some pics and let us know how it goes.  My father used to turn pottery and sell at fairs.  He did just as your husband, "let my mom show a few things".  Well, she sold out and he sold nearly nothing.  It was a source of friction for a while  :2funny: .  I think it was because her work was quite creative but he, being an engineer, carefully measured every cup and his work looked factory made because it was so perfect.

Good luck, Mea! I know it will be so exciting for you to sell your first piece!! As Lynn said, take a lot of pictures! We want to see!!!!! :)
I really enjoyed looking at your husband's work. I am a wood turner, also. ( I have a 16x48 Jet)  It is not a common hobby and that's too bad. It is amazing to take a tree trunk and turn it into something so beautiful! It just fascinates me!

Oh sorry Mea.  I misread.  He is a wood turner.  Where did Christina see his work?

Lynn, C Bodine, and Val

Thanks for your good wishes for a  successful craft fair (Dec. 7).  I will take some photos and report on how it went.

My husband usually does well at this particular fair as it is very popular and in an upscale community.

Let's see if I can compete!

If you outsell him.... you may just have to buy him a prezzie!

O0 Good luck with the fair, my dad was a wood worker and mom did fabric art and they did local fair booths also.

Your Hubby's work with the local woods rocks! :gl: Your cards should do great!

Thanks, Steven.  I'm proud of my husband's work.  He works I his wood shop every day - he's 88!

Thanks, Nolan.   The one plus in learning to do watercolor is that I can actually have something to sell with very little lead time.

I love doing oil, but it's the drying time that takes soooo long.
