Val, I too, have been scouting around looking for a starting date but as far as I can see, there have been no formal announcements although you are right, Dennis in his end of the year address mentioned the first Monday in January 2014 as being the start of the pastel lessons.  Thanks for bringing this to their attention Val.  What would we do without you?

Last time we heard from Nolan on the drawing class he said will start on 3rd Wednesday of January, and will be in the morning NZ time. That was sometime before Christmas. Doina

Thanks Doina, I must have missed that one. That would have been during my bad spell....so it is possible I did read it and forgot.

 :thankyou:

Val, it was not like will be on 3rd Wednesday. It was in a response to a posting and went like: It will be on Wednesday, in the mornings as my other classes.....in the 3rd week of January. I compressed all of them in my first statement    Doina

:thankyou:  Doina, I miss so much by not reading everything but time is sometimes short and I tend to skim over things.  Anyway, with Val sending Dennis an email we will get some clarification today for sure. I will just keep checking in.

Hope everyone had a very good New Year with the family O0

The Forum has got so big that I can't remember  just where I mentioned that we would  be a bit late in starting the classes due to the fact that we are in the process of upgrading the broadcasting studio not only in software but in hardware as well. (You gave, we give)

Nolan only arrived back from his holiday in Christchurch last night and is still sleeping (almost 5am here in NZ at the moment - up early since my foot still keeps me awake some nights). I will see him some time today and then will find out just how much work is still to be done before we can start classes for the year. What has to be done is a one-man job and Nolan is the Techkie :)

From my side, when we start, there will be no template for the first lesson. I will be going through the basics as I want to start assuming everyone has never done pastels before. As with the watercolours, I want to give each one a very good grounding and foundation in the fundamentals of pastels. No foundation and the building will crack and fall apart :heeha:

   Oh dear..... cracking foundations, fall apart!  :faint:   I don't need any help with that!  ::)

Thank you Dennis for clarifying ... I know I missed quite a bit while I was ill so just had to check. Didn't want to miss anything you know!  ;D

Hope all of you had a splendid Christmas and New Year, so looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of our Clark boys this year.

Hugs and Cheers, MOI!

:thankyou:  So much Dennis for the clarification.  I will keep a look out for the next posting.  So sorry to hear that your foot is keeping you awake some nights and pray that you will soon be painless and running about again.

Dennis...I think we'd all feel better if you went to your Dr. right away and find out why your ankle is sore. We need you!!...and we sure don't want you in pain....for ANY reason, dear friend.
Hoping to hear soon how you are doing.

Dennis, I join my other friends here in saying that I hope your foot continues to heal and causes you less pain as time passes. I look forward to hearing and learning more about pastels, whenever the broadcast studio is all shiny and renovated.  Reminds me of old-time billboards on new building locations that would say: Watch this Spot! We will all keep watching.

Happy New Year, dear teacher.

Please take care Dennis!! Perhaps you ankle is akin to my knee. If used a bit much, it lets me know soon enough. I've missed these classes so much. I am ready with my new set of pastels. I've never been taught in the use of pastels--so this will be a first.

See the doc asap so you will be ready when the techie is ready!!!
