I think I prefer painting watercolor as watercolors vs acrylics! Got a bit heavy handed with my masking fluid so my weeds are a bit thicker than they should be.  And you're right, Dennis - it definitely looks a lot better further away than close up!
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon,

Looks like you are taking the day off from your Sacramento painting.

Your use of colors reminds me of Denise's work.  Nice!

Denise, where are you?  We want to see your work again.

Mea, I was just thinking the same thing .... where is Denise?  We haven't seen/heard of her for sometime and I hate when that happens.   Patricia

Thanks, Mea and Patricia - and Mea, this Sac painting is so overwhelming that it helps me to take a break and paint other things until I get the courage to return to the Sac scene!  And yes, I was wondering about Denise as well...
Cheers,
Sharon

Here is my version of this class..... very interesting exercise to do, I am still not sure about acrylics as a medium for me. I found that the inability of the paint to blend once dry really frustrating, although on the plus side it did stop me from fiddling  :2funny: Mind you layering colours on top of each other was interesting - you never knew what you'd get!!

Some of the colours are a little stronger than I would have liked, but it is all down to my inexperience with acrylics. Might have to have another go at this one in watercolours or maybe pastels  :)

As always comments, crits and suggestions are most welcome

Thank you Val and Dennis for your comments  :) This one was a bit of a challenge but I really enjoyed doing it and learning new techniques. I think I will try this one in pastels as well and see what I can do with the lessons learned  :)

Thank you all for your encouragement - much appreciated.

I decided to have another go at this one , but using pastels this time. I am really pleased with the way it turned out. I had to stop myself from the dreaded fiddling stage!!  The curse of all artists   :2funny: :2funny:
