I had never had any interest or talent for art until a friend, an oil painter, showed me her work and invited me to take her class, a senior citizen oil painting class offered by Honolulu's Parks and Recreation Dept.  I tried to say no, but she is quite persuasive.

I was so surprised that after two classes I had finished my first painting and it was not bad.  Did a second one that was better than I could have imagined.

I wanted to paint more than just one morning a week, so went to YouTube and found Paintbasket.  That lead me to watercolor and drawing, too.   Now I am a total PB addict.

I still attend the oil classes every week, even though it means a 4-hour bus ride, round trip.  The fringe benefit of that is that I can draw while riding the bus, so it makes good use of my time.

God bless the Clarks for giving us a place to improve in our art and meet a whole new set of friends.

Cheers, Annie
