If you had told me a year ago that I would be exhibiting four of my paintings in an art show at Honolulu City Hall, I would have thought you were crazy.

But, it is going to happen!!  July 2-19.

The paintings are all beautifully framed.  I am so excited, but I cannot be there to see it because I will be on Cape Cod.

All of the artists are senior citizens and their work is extraordinary!    I am honored to be their midst (as I am with PB).

Denise, you'll stop by to see them, won't you please?

Well, I agree "their work is extraordinary"!. I stopped by yesterday morning and had such a nice time browsing. Just the location itself, where the art is displayed is lovely. An old stone building with the front entrance (the whole side of the wall) completely open to the show. Living in Hawaii, you can't go wrong with that 8)

I liked that the artwork had such a broad range of styles from total abstract to tropical to classic type pieces and the advanced students works were right along side the "newbies". Mea's Palm Sunset, Pansies and Chinaman's Hat fit in with the best of them (hmm, I may have missed a fourth painting?......)

I could tell the reception that evening would be beautiful. Nice pictures of all the artists with a short bio was carefully displayed. Name tags, flyers and other info was tastefully arranged in prep for the evening. Everything looked so attractive I kept expecting to see Champagne bottles and glasses! I was impressed.

Mea, it seems you are with a top notch group of people. Talented with great taste too!

Denise,

Thanks for going to see the oil painting exhibit and posting such a thorough review.

I heard that the reception was attended by more than 300 people.

Miss you folks.  Will check in again in a few days.

Aloha

Our annual Senior Citizen art class exhibition will be held again this year at Honolulu City Hall.  I have two 12" x 16" oil paintings in the show.  There will be more than 100 paintings in the show.

It'll will run from May 27 through June 15 - weekdays from 8AM to 4PM.  There is a lovely reception on opening day, from 4 to 6PM.  Hope Liz and Denise can attend again and give us a report, because I will be 5000 miles away at my 50th college reunion!

Thanks for the assistance from PB members who helped me with these two paintings.  They are better because of your suggestions.

aloha and mahalo for your continuing support

I just saw this thread Mea,   This is great, i am happy for you.  :yippee:     Next year you will have to reserve some time to attend the opening.    Good luck and have fun at your reunion.   Your paintings look so great.
