Hi everyone

Just thought I would share my Watercolour Border Template.

It is made from the backing of an old Watercolour paper pad having the centre cut out to the exact dimensions of an A4 sheet of paper - as I blow the templates up to that exact size.

So when I need to set up a new sheet of paper, it takes 10 seconds to do my border perfectly each time.

I have sticky taped the inside rim to allow the pencil to glide along the inside a little better too. So the image shows a piece of paper on my drawing board, with the template on top of it, ready to draw in the border.

Anyway, just thought someone else might find this tip useful.

Could definately be a real time saver. I am using blocks at this point, so just laying 1" tape around the edge has the templates fitting perfect most of the time. The odd one just needs a slight extension drawn in.
This might be a good option once I get back home and start cutting the paper from my roll.
Great idea, thanks Bman.  O0

:thankyou:  Batman, for all the help and tips you give us.  I never thought of doing what you have done which surely is a time saver so I will be trying it too.  Thanks so much.  Patricia

No worries ladies. For me, creating the template was more about avoiding the mundane task of measuring out the border for each painting, than saving time.

The way I looked at it was, "if I found the measuring the border out each week a tedious act, then so might others."

HI,

I have been using mine for almost 12 months already. Dunno why I didin't mention it here beforehand - maybe the simplicity of the idea of the idea made me think I was the only one who had the idea.

Glad you found it useful.

Hey Batman, I know I am late coming to this particular chat, but let me add my  :thankyou:  to the batch.

As a real Newbie, to the Watercolor painting (I have not done one yet)
I am still trying to figure out how to ready myself for Sunday's live class, and I had remembered seeing this somewhere.   :detective:

Finally found your post and read it again.   This was a very helpful    :thankyou:
