11x14 on Bristol. Why on earth did I make it so big?? But it was a great learning experience. Days and days of learning experience. :2funny:  I have posted it here, because I obviously made too many changes in the composition.  Sorry Batman!!! I will behave for next month's challenge. Unlike Pegi, I'm not going to try it again!

    Sarah, a lovely clear drawing of the "room with a view" ... I tell you, that title had me laughing and I think it should be entered for the drawing challenge as it looks like the original subject!!  Patricia

Because. you felt you needed and wanted an in-depth study of trees, lots and lots of trees! EmojiEmojiEmojiEmojiEmoji

I live to draw and paint, it a good thing that I don't have to draw and paint to live!

Arghhhhhhhhhhh!! :tickedoff: Don't even mention trees! I thought I would never get out of that forest. Even had to go back in and fix after I took the first photo this morning. And after all that, they are still my least favorite part of this drawing. I need to go back to Dennis' optional tree drawings and do every one of them.  Hmmmm. That would be a good project while Dennis is on holiday. :heeha:

Yours turned out great, and your picture is wonderful.  Be sure to put it in the Challenge.  I love it.

Hey Sarah, You are not an orphan on this .... those trees ..... just the entire drawing, while it looked pretty easy was nothing like it.  I sat for hours with my rulers, erasers, my protractors .... you name it, I was trying it ... all the lines I drew made me dizzy.  So yes, submit your drawing for it was very good.  Patricia

Sarah, you are being too harsh on yourself. When I first looked at your drawing my focus went straight to the hut then over the trees and viewed the waves and then admired the clouds. I then took an overview of the scene and could see that you've done very well. The trees look great and they surround the hut well.
I'd suggest popping a little more darker shade on the trees behind the hut to the right and, defining the grasses/reeds on the lower left corner to give a vignetting effect pointing to the hut.
Well done

Thank you Tony. I like your suggestions. I spent the weekend in a matting and framing workshop and used this piece as my learning piece. But I need to paint the frame before I finally get everything put together. So I could try them out--particularly vignetting the grasses. I like it.

I must have missed this!  Well done, Sarah, and the name is soooo cute!   :smitten: Tony made some good suggestions there.  Just remember where the light is coming from in your drawing,   I don't know why I just said that, you have such a good eye.
Only we who draw know how much time goes into producing a piece like this.   :congrats:   It was worth every minute you put into it.
Great that you're learning the matting and framing.      I'm looking forward to seeing it in the frame.
