This was my first attempt at a painted portrait which I did in November 2012. Perhaps it was this poor soul that pushed Dennis to give us the portrait in w/c .... I can just see him rolling his eyes!  ::)    :2funny:

I've a bit of catching up to do in the portrait lessons, I'm interested to see how we all get on.
See you all tomorrow!

:'(  won't be able to join you all for the paint a long tommorrow.  Celebrating my husband's and son's birthday.  Val, I think we should all try to paint that little sweetheart of yours some day.  He would be a great challenge.

Wow Jenny!  :heeha:  Can't believe you kept up! You've done very well here. I can only see you need to bring the water level straight across to the edge from her shoulder, and maybe soften the shading from the nostrils to around her mouth. Then you'll have a real prize!

I painted my great niece this past week (before learning about coloration in a child's face). I had a very hard time with the color. It was 45 different shades and this is what I got. It's a little overworked, but that's watercolor.
I'll post my painting from today's paint along with Dennis also. Thank you for being here everyone!

A mish mash of colors Bella-yellow, burnt sienna, red, mauve and orange.  I'm sorry-it's hard to tell what I'm doing sometimes with trying to watch Dennis and paint.
Carol your portrait on your own is wonderful!
Great job Brian!   I'm glad you were able to paint along today.  :)

I did this painting on my own before our lesson to see if I could incorporate everything we had learnt over the last 7 or so weeks.  I never put a background to it or the water drops as it was just a trial run for me. Comments and critiques are so welcomed.  Patricia

This is from our lesson today for which many thanks Dennis.  It was most enjoyable. Patricia
