The challenge for March / April is to compose and draw / paint your own still life.
I have added a tutorial to the site which shows you exactly How to Compose a Still Life
You can also see my still life drawing there. O0

The challenge will run for March and April as I think one month was a bit short for most.

The person who has the best composed still life will win a mystery prize which, as Pat found out last time will be well worth your while  :heeha:

:gl: and don't forget to tell all your friends about the challenge.

Hope this is not posting a second time. Having problems posting my comments  :-\
Here's my contribution to your challenge for this month.
I took your advice on using things from the kitchen, and setting them out in an L shape, only diffs is,
I had no pumpkins, so I researched a few photos of pumpkins and did the rest in my head.
Painting is done with water colours but unfortunately the quality of the paper was not the best, as it was all I had at the time.

Lyndy, you have a very nicely composed still life here and well executed. The colours are nice and rich and well placed. What is really nice are the "fillers" you have used to fill up the empty space on the top right and not overdone.

The photo does not show up the grade of the paper.

Lyndy, this painting is beautiful! I love the balanced composition, and the colour combination is rich, but still "light"! Well done!!   :flowers:

Nicely done Lyndy.  O0 Pumpkins are very popular here in the caribbean, but they're green!

Thank you all for the encouragement. It is much appreciated. We have pumpkins that are orange, white, green or even a slight shade of blue here in SA.  ;D

Where can we post our entries for this challenge?  Is it still open?  I only see one posted on this topic wall, so it would be nice to know how to go about entering for the challenges.

Lyndy can anyone beat you?  You have done a spectacular job. Somehow I missed this post about the challenge and only read it today. Dont know if I could come up with something before the deadline.

Lyndy, I love your painting!

Smartie & Gloria, if you look back, you'll notice that this thread and the challenge was started over a year ago,  on
March 16, 2011.

There are no current challenges.  We now have the videos and the replays.

No wonder I didn't see it. Thanks Lillian for being on the ball. Otherwise I would be bursting my brains to do a challenge when there is none. I have to look back and see who won.
