I've haven't caught up with the posts yet but, I've managed to get some artwork done!  :yippee:
I've 'painted' this Banana using coloured pencils. I used Faber Castell Polychromos set of 12 colours. Both watercolour and, standard pencils. I put down a light wash of Cadmium Yellow first. Then I used more yellow, purple (complimentary), brown and black (spots and outlines). This took approx 40 mins to do. I used a small book of watercolour paper that was quite textured. I think I far prefer smoother paper:

On this picture you can just see the colours I used on the paper:

I'me busy setting out some reference material too.

:thankyou:  Jennylynn, Patricia & Didwaud ;)
I've been working on some other stuff but, it seems every time I try to get motivated, something gets in the way!
I've been practising some watercolour painting of objects I want to put in a scene. I like mixing standard brushwork with pencils  :smart: .
Can't settle into any today 'cos daughter seems to have started in labour! (she's over due anyway). So, I may be a Granpapa by tomorrow!  :yippee:

Well  :thankyou:  Val lass and Patricia ;)
I'm having an easy day. I deserve it. With all the fuss goin on about babies and pregnancy and all the womens graphic details, I think sleep would be a better option!  For goodness sake, it's just a baby. Women really know how to milk things! Even Sue is taking full advantage. Says she has 'sympathy pains'! What!!! No, it's us men who have 'brain pain'!
And I suppose I've got to get flowers, cards, etc. etc? Everything would be just fine if I can go treat myself at the DIY store with some new tools and, a chillout evening with curry and a pint of Shandy!  :smart: 8) :help:

Sorry I haven't replies sooner. Busy times for us men!
I just wanted to let 'ya know, daughter is just going down for an emergency Caesarean (spelling checked via Google!) due to some cervix positioning or something. The Baby's heart rate is showing distress so, we're now waiting to hear how it goes. I imagine it'll be pretty soon. I'll keep 'ya posted. In the meantime, I'll have to think about a gift to buy for myself! :yippee:

Update:
Hospital have changed their decision (which I'm glad about) and goin to monitor to see if a natural birth is possible!
To fill the time waiting, I'm practicing some painting. I've used coloured. Pencils to see if I can recreate a water coloured scene. It's turned out like a storyboard sketch from The Snowman! I'm happy about that.
I've also ordered a self indulgent treat of a set of watercolour brushes!  :painting:
