I am more happy with the berries than with the rocks.  I can't seem to get the shading correct in the rocks to create the correct texture?  I will appreciate your feedback!

-Hi Ronelle. Welcome to the Forum  :welcome:
It looks like you are having trouble adding a photo to the forum. Go to the main page of the forum and scroll to the bottom you will see a heading Forum Tech Stuff. Go to "How to add a picture to your post" and lower down you will get the 2nd method of adding a picture. This is the method I normally use.

Register for free with http://www.photobucket.com and upload your file and save it. When saved place the curser  on the picture and then click on the window that says IMG Code. This will copy the code for you.
Go back to the post you made and at the top right you will see an icon marked Modify. Click this and it will bring you back to your original post and just below your heading of berries you can click to enter a comment. Just above the first smiley you will see a block "insert image". Click this and it will place a set of brackets below the berries comment..  Between the brackets paste the code you copied from photobucket.

Check your preview button to see if has transferred properly.
Let me know if you still have a problem.  (Can't wait to see your drawing  :))

Hi Ronelle

:bigwelcome: to the forum. Hope you are enjoying the course so far.

Berries : You have done a superb job here, especially with the leaves, well done  . On the berries there is still a line between the highlight and the shadow which you can soften using your finger. That will round then off nicely O0 You can also darken your shadows some more, that will make the berries stand out off the page even more.

Rocks : I don't agree that you haven't got the shading correct on the rocks - your shadings are perfect  :yippee: . It is your shadows that are not dark enough under and between the rocks. If you have used your 4B pencil here, then you can press harder to get a darker shade. Remember that the shadows are darkest on the "inside" and lighten as they move outward.  You can see from my rocks below that I have got the shadows almost black.

You are doing an excellent job, just keep concentrating on getting those shadows in your drawings nice and dark. O0

Looking forward to your next drawings.

Looks like Nolan and I were commenting at the same time and saying exactly the same thing.

Ronelle you are doing just fine. You also have a nice touch.
