Does anyone modulate colors in their skies? I am working on a simple sky..no clouds. I put in the slightly dark and bluer "top", with a little more greenish-blue in the middle and slightly more yellow at bottom (though you can't hardly see it
Not done though. After a couple of layers of it being dry, i am still trying to attempt to put touches of greys in it...greenish, pinkish, warm orangish. These are pre-mixed and ready for when it's dry. They have to be very very close to the same value of the blue sky of course. Will let you know how that works out. I don't want a simple generic looking sky to this.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.
