Hello All...We're finally starting to move north. Will be sailing up to Carriacou today, internet is not always good there but will try to keep in touch. After that will be in Tobago Cays to commune with the sea turtles. Hope to get some pictures and do a few paintings of them. Such wonderful creatures. Hope to have lots to show when I reconnect.
Cheers, Val

Have a great time Val...is that Tobago as in Trinidad?
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

Hello All...Currently in Admiralty Bay, Bequia in St. Vincent & The Grenadines. We unfortunately had to bypass Tobago Cays to outrun bad weather. Will have to keep anchor watches tonight, keep an eye out for dragging vessels. Winds in the anchorage are gusting 40kts. +    Paradise can get a bit rough sometimes! Unfortunately not much chance for sketching and painting, hopefully things will quiet down soon.
Cheers, Val

 Kelley...funny thing about sailors...when things turn nasty, they aren't overly fussy about where the help comes from!  :2funny: I have seen devout atheists become quite religious at times!  ::)  Thanks for your thoughts.
ps  I really like your sunset painting.
Cheers, Val

Am having Paint Basket withdrawal!! We arrived in Le Marin, Martinique 3 days ago. Short but fantastic sail up. Finally found some internet that hopefully will work, still very slow and not always available. Can't open anything up so no comments from me today, (lucky you!), don't worry I'll make up for it! All the best, keep drawing and painting...

I don't know any nautical sayings, but I hope you have a great voyage. See you when you get back.

Will be meandering up the coast of Martinique and making stops along the way. One of which will be Le Carbet, where Paul Gauguin spent his period in Martinique. Unfortunately there are no original works here, but I'm told a lovely museum full of memorabilia and reproductions of his work here. Quite a fascinating story so really looking forward to that.
