Drawing i finaly made after my original painting from 2004. It is a Birthmandala or Numerologic Mandala, and every detail of it stands for someting, it is who i am. I wanted to paint that same painting for myself too, but it never happend, then in 2010 i draw my mandala on watercolourpainting, just to see if it would look good in watercolours, but again i didn't get started with it. But yesterday, i thought it just was time to finaly make this mandala. No watercolour, oil or acrylics but colourpencils. I like it, it was just fun to do, but i like the one i made in 2007 for my partner more. The drawing is 30 x 30 cm on Canson Montval 300gr/m² watercolourpaper.

I made the painting for my best friends birthday as a big 'Thank you' for our 25th anniversary, way back in 2004. The middle part stands for 25 years of friendship, and that part i have painted once more, the left mandala is her's and the right one mine. It took me two months to write down every detail to make the Birthmandala's, not only the name, date of birth, sign of the zodiac,  but also your colour, planet, flower, soulnumber and some more. And an other month to paint it, it was painted in acrylics on board of 50 x 70 cm. And i had to take it by train, not easy with all my bags too. Unfortunately she ended our friendship five years later, without any reason, till this day i don't know why i never heard anything from her again.

Thank you Fait and Natalie for your nice comment.  :flowers:

I like it to make Mandala's and i have made a lot since i had my Reiki education. Birthmandalas or Numerologic Mandala's are such a fun to make and hard too. You need to collect as much information as possible, about the persone whom's mandala it is. And aftr that you really need to make from everything numbers and have to find to right symbols for these numbers, symbols that the person who's mandala it is, does understand, loves and that has a special meanig to him.
I didn't make mandalas for two years now, this was the first again. But i love playing with colourpencils and with the right music and mood, you can create the most beautiful mandalas.  :smitten:

Very interesting, Rita.  I agree with Nolan... lots of work going into that! I applaud your patience... something I need to learn.  I'm a pretty patient person; however, I get too anxious sometimes wanting things to look good quickly!   ::)

:thankyou: njnjgirl, Nolan and Dianne, for your nice comments. Yes it was a lot of work to make al the little details, but finding al the right numbers, for name, soul-, live- and luckynumber, all the right simbols element, flower, stone and birthmonth (lion), sorry i forgot the word, and your chinese birthanimal (rooster), took me even more time. For my birthday i used things that i liked on that moment. But i discoverd now that i made some mistakes when i made the original drawing, so maybe i will start another one one of these days.
Dianne, i'm a quite patient person , but this was sometimes very  :pullhair:   but  :coffee:  helps a lot :2funny:
