Here are the photos :

Option 1
Desert by Kelley

Option 2
Thirteen by Kaaskrul

Option 3
Fishing by Pat

It wasn't easy choosing, so we chose on :
1) Paintability of the photo as is, or with minor mods
2) One photo per person (so we chose the best in our humble opinion)
3) Photos we felt had the flexibility to be interpreted / painted in different mediums / styles.

Votes will remain hidden until the poll closes

This is a friendly challenge, so you can vote for your own photo if you like  ;D , but remember everybody only gets one vote.

Well done to the finalists and good luck  :gl2:

This is totally not fair.  I like all 3.  Great job!

please everybody vote, or we are not going to get a clear winner, it's a neck on neck battle at the moment.

Since no more votes, I propose we do Pat's "fishing".   It will be challenging as it has more objects, but there can be variations as each artist interprets.

Dennis and I were mulling over the same question today seeing as we have a tie, so the winner is Pat

Well done Pat, I will PM you details of your prize - you will be the first person to receive our new DVD  :congrats:

Okay guys, good luck with your sunset paintings. No rush to complete, but it would be cool if we could finish around the end of the month so we could start fresh next month.

Wow, so cool. Thanks guys! I had to be sure that you understand it's a photo, NOT a painting. I would like to paint this also sometime, but currently that Indian Yellow I put on is not drying one bit.  But, yes, it would seem like it would lend itself as a "fairly" simple painting, but with brilliant color! Few touches of shadow blues to bring that orange out. Anyway, thanks again everyone. I will get back with you Nolan on my address.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

It was a difficult choice because ALL the photographs were of high quality. See how your photographs can help your art side? Keep it up, guys. And happy  :painting:

Looking forward to see the results of the sunset paintings.
