Another question:

If I deepen the shadow under the dark brown rock....left side, upper two thirds....where the people walked around it....will it make the rock NOT look as if it's gonna fall in the water? Or..if I tie in the rock just above and to the left part of the 'tippy' rock, as one big rock?  Just the dark brown rock...not the tan one.

Would that help the picture?

I'll let the expert give you advice on this one.

Okay everyone,

Here's my go at "small waterfalls". Let me know what you think.

Batman, Looks pretty good. You might think about lifting some of the dark blue in the back part, and some coming over the fall. it looks a little too much the same I think. But will see what Dennis says.  O0

Many thanks Maryna and Nina. It's not quite so bad on the painting itself, but I know what you mean. I think it got introduced when I added the blue/green wash.

Oh, here it is!!!  It's been said before, a little too much dark blue but other than that, well done.

...as always, looking forward to Dennis' feedback.

Batman, the only part that troubles me is, the mid point at the top to the bottom water fall. The brown area where I think it should show some water. It may also look a bit better if you can straighten (horizontally) at the top to that water area.
Otherwise, I think it's looking good. The toanl ranges look good and, it's certainly a river subject.
Well done.

Thanks for commenting Lillian and Tony.

Tony, I'm not sure that I know what you mean by your first paragraph. Except for the colouration, the it is painted as Dennis did - shape wise. If you compare it to the notes, I cover stuff where it is meant to be and the irregular water area is meant to show overhanging rocks and churning water etc.

Guess I need to see what Dennis thinks - other than the blue being too dark.
