Thanks again Nolan. Sorry i missed your email address in the post above. I enjoyed the second lesson  though i missed painting along.
Val, your sea looks like the stretch of sea I pass every time I drive up our cost. It is very real.

One thing that comes to mind is that your clouds look like what Nolan would call "soldiers in a row".
You could change the shapes of the clouds.

much better Mary, well spotted Musika

You can also add a few more smaller, mid tone ripples on the water Mary. Other than that it is looking great

 Very nice sky Val, still catching up and had no net for a couple of days. I like the texture in your clouds and the colouring. The water looks superb.   O0  Really looking forward to seeing this one finished.

I like your sky, Mary.

In fact I like all that you've done.  I'm looking forward to seeing your finished painting. :congrats:

Thanks so much, Nina...I'm stuggling terribly with Pt. 2.  Evidently, when I drew out the sketch portion, my lower lines of the beach were not spaced properly and as a result, my "big" wave is turning out so much smaller than it should be in proportion to the rocks and I'm pretty stymied at the moment as to what to do with it.  I think today I'm going to see if I can elongate the bottom of that wave but that's a dangerous undertaking...lol.  This is a new kind of problem for me to try to figure out here...I hope I can fix it.

Thanks to Musika, I think the sky turned out so much better than the original, Lillian.  And thank you for your encouragement.  Pt. 2 as I mentioned about is turning out to be a different story but I'm working on it.   :D
