Hi Pbers,

Heres my autumn scene! Lots of fun flinging the paint around and had to wipe down the laptop at one point to avoid an autumn inspired workspace. Happy with the result and will definitely try more of these autumn scenes as I like the colours...

Thanks Dennis and Nolan...

Wow, Trev, such brilliant color.  Never thought watercolor could be that intense.  What brand are you using?

Thanks Happy and Mea,

Mea Im using a mish mash of Rembrandts, Aquafine, Cotmans and Van Goghs. In the video at one point Dennis advises to use some colours pretty much straight from the tubes to get the vibrancy of the autumn colours so thats what i did. Ive also learnt (i think youve also advised me on this before) to make my shadows and darks darker and not be scared to do so (even though it is scary!). When one does this your brights and lights really pop! I dont know about watercolour not being intense, ive seen some beautiful intense watercolour work.

Tom Lynch, Frank Francese, Don Andrews are three watercolourists that I admire for their vivid intense watercolours. I think they are known as colourists in terms of their styles...check them out, amazing!

:)

Trev - this is fantastic! Love the vibrancy! This was my favorite of all of the tree classes Dennis taught - and you really did a great job!

Yes, Trev, the single most valuable lesson I have learned from Paintbasket lessons is the importance of shading - dark against light.  It makes all the difference!

I'll check out those three names.

I love your enthusiasm for art.

These are lovely. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these, and maybe trying this myself sometime. Well done all.
