:welcome: Czechchick to the Paint Basket and hope you stay with us for a long time and enjoy the company of the other members.

Glad you enjoyed the class. Why not show us a couple of your sketches as I sure that the others would also love to see them.

Thanks one and all for your lovely comments
- I really appreciate them as I myself enjoyed putting this class together. It brought back many memories of one of my lifelong friends, Hans Moolman who now lives in Lyttleton, Pretoria, when we worked together in Pietermaritzburg in the Magistrate's office. Nearly every weekend we would climb on our bicycles and tour the countryside sketching anything and everything. We even cycled from Pietermaritzburg to Durban and back for a weekend (circa 1952) - and that before the modern highway was built. We still corrrespond.

Dennis, when I started raving about your class today I couldn't believe I heard the loudest...longest...collective groan on record! Call Guiness!   ;D
They seem to think I drove them bonkers before...now there's no stopping me! Looks like I might be taking more walks on my own .... no sense of adventure these people.   ::)   :2funny:   :2funny:
Thank you again for such a brilliant class....can't wait for the next one!   :yippee:
Cheers, Val

A warm  :welcome: to Paintbasket, Chechchick!  I'm glad you joined.

I'd love to see some of your sketches.

Here are a couple of previously posted sketches from my sketchbook. I'll have to take a few more photos and put them here....  Just shows they don't have to be good, just as long as you keep doing it.

Val, I haven't seen the cat drawing.  I love it.  Very well done!

We're all so inspired since this class.  I hope we see lots more drawings show up here.

Thankyou Lillian, Penny and Linda. This is Morissey, one of my sister's cats. A very contrary, ornery old gal.  We love her just the same. I'm glad the picture was here on PB ... remember Dennis saying NOT to use scraps of paper? She was done on a scrap ... and yes she has become one of the missing. Lesson learned!   O0

Ahhhhh Val!  How about printing the photo out and pasting it in your sketch book.  A nice drawing like that, you definitely should hang on to.

Dennis, thank you very, very much for this class. Thank you for allowing us to participate in your memories in form of the sketchbooks :) :) :) this class was so inspiring. I will take out my sketchbook again and give it a new try. At the moment for me the most important tip was to start new if a sketch did not work. :) I think this is a great way to learn and a great way to put the frustration aside.

:thankyou:

In the class, Dennis mentioned a couple of websites:

http://petescully.com/      and         urbansketchers.org

I just took a few minutes to check these sites out and if you want more inspiration for sketching, I highly recommend these.
