Kind of have this down now..I like drawing lots of detail, but don't like the idea of having to suggest alot of things...trees, stone surfaces :whistle:, large background of any kind, lakes with reflections, etc.
If these kind of things are a large portion of the whole image, then I'll pass on that. If they are minor portions, then that's fine. Doing a small area of trees, or stone, would not seem to be a large task like a very large area.
Still leaves alot of images that will be found and can be done.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.
