Oh, Nolan!!  I've started five different times to do the rocks....even tried the tall mountain pic...somehow the rocks 'disappear' as I go along.  I don't want to 'skip' any of the course, but I'm so frustrated. What on earth am I doing wrong?  I get the first three...top to bottom....and then, I can't make out where they are. Should I outline them hard for a few times to find where the rock and the shading goes? Would that help? I am so eager to 'get this'. I was going to start the coffee cup, but it also has planes, so I should try and get the planes on the rocks.
I guess I'm going to have to go for the DVD course.....LOL....I need someone to "hold my hand" and draw me a picture!    :2funny::2funny:
Thanks....I do so enjoy the classes, but I'm not too speedy. W/C and drawing are a fair load to try and comprehend now.

Do the outlines not too hard, then study Nolan's drawings, see where the shades are. Get your plane lines in before you fill in the drawing. Then softly work your way through it, rock by rock, you will soon see it come together.

This is a drawing that does take some time, but you will get there eventually, I also initially had a hard time with it, but then later it came out very nice.

Ohhhh    :thankyou:,  Maryna.  I'm so frustrated with it. It starts out great, but about third rock down, I seem to 'lose' the rocks. I don't know what's rock and what's shadow.  Even with the plane lines, I get 'lost'!   :idiot2:
I'll keep pluggin. I thought if I traced it a lil harder, then I could see what is what. I'll try again.
Thanks, again. Glad to hear that someone else had a prob with it, too.

if you can post the rocks drawing so I can look at it, then I will be able to see where you are going wrong please
