I'm in B C, Canada, and I'm wondering what brand of good watercolor paint that's available and where. I have no idea on "what's best", so any information would be greatly appreciated. We do not have any kind of art store other than Wal Mart, so I'm hoping to find somewhere to get my supplies so I can get started.

Hi Tousabella, I buy mine at Hobby Lobby and www.dickblick.com it is for all art supplies. I don't know if you have a hobby lobby there. But if you go on line you will usually get a discount coupon that you can take with you to the store. Sometimes it is up to 40% off. I have my husband get one and I get one. It saves some money for watercolours. or for that matter any medium. Also cheap joes. This is online also.
Have a great one.

Thanks...I was just worried about shipping charges from across the line. Do we have such a store up here in Canada?

Tousabella, I don't think there is a Hobby Lobby in Canada.  I know you can order from them online and still use the 40% off coupon on 1 item.  I don't know how expensive shipping would be for you.

  Hi Tousabella, my Canadian friend.  I can only reach out and touch you on Paintbasket, many miles between us.

I live fairly close to Ottawa where they have a deSerres store.  It's a chain.

There's one in BC where you can order online.  http://www.deserres.ca/en-ca/customer-service/our-stores/4/  I see that if you order over $75 you can get free shipping.

I hope this helps.   :1hug:

Thanks so much. Lillian, I've sent an email to the store in Vancouver. Thanks for the info.
Will let you know how it turns out! :D
