In this live online art class by Nolan Clark you will learn :

1) What the difference is between oil paints and acrylics and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
2) The basics of using acrylics
3) Learn how to make your own stay-wet palette
4) How you can use the multitude of oil painting lessons available here and paint them in acrylics
5) How you can combine acrylics with oils to complete your paintings faster.
6) and heaps more

During the class we will complete a painting in acrylics so if you have acrylics already, then pack them out and paint along.

To paint along you will need:

16 x 20 inch canvas
Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, French Ultramarine and White acrylic paints

This is great Nolan, i need to pick up my skills in acrylics once more as it has been many years since i have used this medium,I was given a box of 12 Atelier interactive acrylics late last year and was going to start trying them out after the watercolor course.Plus i am going on a acrylic workshop in Sept to Fiji for 7 days so it would be good if i can use them properly.I will watch for the replay when the time comes.

Oh Nolan I am so excited about this, Acrylics is what I have been using up to now, would love to try oils but I don't want to deal with the smell.  I have been tempted to try them but if you can show me how to use them as oils I will be sooo happy :flowers:

I booked the class!   :yippee:

I have everything I need for the class except I used all my acrylic brushes for the oil painting classes.   :)
To the art store I must  :run:  to get an assortment of brushes for acrylics.

I've done lots of acrylic painting, tole/decorative art but nothing artsie or painterly.

I'm looking forward to the class.

:thankyou:  Nolan.  You are such an inspiration and you keep us  :painting: and learning so much from you.

Maryna,

I have cleaned my brushes well, but I'm afraid there still may be oil in them.  I did a final cleaning with The Masters brush cleaner.  Maybe, maybe, maybe I can use them for acrylics???

Maybe Nolan will give us some advice on this.

I use my brushes for both oils and acrylics - never had a problem. If you have cleaned your brush normally there will be no problem with contamination.

I've registered via "Events" on Facebook re "Free Online Art Class - Acrylics" event posted by Nolan Clark Artist, so I presume I don't have to register here again.
I also posted a question there, ie "What type/size brushes and palette knives do we need, Nolan? Thank you."
