    EmmaLee, you have achieved an excellent likeness to Annie. You have done a superb job and your client should be so thrilled with it. Love her nose and eyes which are so soft.  She looks like she is a gentle dog.

Another excellent painting EmmaLee.
Just one little thing is you may want to add the scar on the bridge of her nose near her eye which makes it unique to her.

Thank you Patricia and Teresa.  I’m so happy to read your comments.
The client asked for me to leave the scar out of the painting. I guess it was a recent injury and she didn’t want it included in the portrait.

O0 Very nice, EmmaLee!  Is the dog’s color like your photo?  The reference photo shows more red orange, like a burnt sienna? I had a dog with fur like that.  A glaze would do the trick, but of course, the main thing is that your client is happy with your painting!  :)   ~Liz

Thank you, Liz. The colors in person are a little more orange than the photo shows, but they still don’t match the photo exactly. Would you suggest a burnt sienna glaze over just the shadow areas or the highlights as well?

Thank you, Dennis. I’ll see what the client thinks before I make any changes. As Liz said- the main thing is the client being happy with it.  :)
