I have not been on the PB site in quite a while. I have been enjoying my new life in Tennessee, working lots of hours, and drawing in between. I’ve been working on my portrait skills. I have learned so much from Nolan’s classes and the support of my artist friends. I have also been taking portrait instruction from additional instructors. I am ever grateful to what we can learn and the friendships we develop through the vehicle of the internet.

This is my newest portrait of my granddaughter, Clara. The photo this was drawn from was taken the week we decided to move to be near our precious family.

:heeha: So good to see you Kathy!  :yippee:

Wow, excellent job on Clara.  O0   The only thing I could suggest would be to strengthen the highlight in her eyes. Give them a little more sparkle.
Brilliant job.
Cheers, Val

Ok, Kathy this is so beautifully done.

Val has a point on the eye highlights.  I didn't notice it until she mentioned it, but yes, that would really make Clara sparkle.

Thank you Val and Mea!  :smitten:
I do see that I slight more highlight would brighten. Happily, the workable fixative allowed me to lift a touch of graphite.   :yippee:

I hope you girls are well and happy. I must peruse the forum and catch up a bit. Hugs to you both.  :1hug:

How wonderful that you are back in the forum Kathy. Your absence was quite long! Your portrait drawing of your grand daughter shows how much of an expert you are! It’s fantastic!

:yippee: :yippee: :yippee:  So happy to see you back Kathy ... it has been too long. However, your portrait of Clara is OUTSTANDING.  You have done a tremendous job and it is so lovely to see your progress.  Please show us some more of your drawings and welcome back.

 Mea, Val, Gita, Win, Teresa, and Patricia. How lovely to see you girls on PB. Yes, it has been very long. I so appreciate your comments on my little Apple Princess.

I’ve missed you all and think of my PB friends often. There are so few hours in the day and I do not spend as much time online as I used to. I have fun grandkids to play with now too.  :D

I hope you are all enjoying your art and doing plenty of it. I will check in more often. Much love and big hugs.  :smitten:

Obviously playing with your grandkids has benefited your art skills.   I must acquire some. At the moment the best I can do is borrowing next door's dog!
