Ok, you folks tempted me and I bit.  I used the free KRITA program to digitally draw this tree.

Way too much work trying to figure out what to do, but at least I gave it a boo as Val would say.

 :2funny:   I love you Mea!  :2funny:

I only got as far as giving it a boo. I suppose I'm more of a tactile artist.... have to get my hands 'into' it!

I have to say you did a pretty respectable job, it is without a doubt....a tree!  O0    Good on you for having a go.
Cheers, Val

Thanks, Val.  I just don't think digital art is something I want to pursue.  But, I now have more respect for the medium and those who chose to do it.

As you know, I have tried just about everything out there, till I finally settled on pyrowax. I went through a digital stage and actually sold a couple I had printed onto a canvas. I found it just as hard as any other medium and have respect for artist like Jerremy Sutton, who I followed and bought a full set of lessons of just like here. I still dabble now and then, but I like to get my hands dirty and to smell my wood and wax. Lol

I think that's why I really enjoy the pastels so much.... I just have this thing about getting my hands mucky!  ;D

I agree it does remind me of a tree  :)

But really good job for giving it a try, and A+ for having the confidence of posting it.

I should dig up my attempt at dig-painting... you would love your tree.

P.S. the highlights are good!
Cheers, Annie

Good try, Mea! Did you draw with an Ipad and stencil? Have to check this Krita programm. I do mine in my Ipad with "Procreate"

Gita

I did it on my laptop.  Way too much of a learning curve to do another one.

Thanks, Annie.  It's not something I intend to pursue, though.

If David Hockney can start it in his eighties and be the success he is, why not us? There is hope for us yet. It is something to keep in mind when I can’t lug my wood around anymore. :2funny:
