A study of three different horses.

Color is really good.  Muscular structure is well defined.  Definite feel that they are in motion. 

But, they look like they are having a bad-hair day.  For some reason the hair looks too thick and curly.  I always think of it as thin, straight, and stringy.

Other than the hair (which is just my opinion), they are all fantastic!

I think no 2 is a bit out of proportion ie head to body. Also if running not all 4 legs should be be straight and on the ground. Hooves are missing on some.

Mea, I tried to make them look "Wild" I'll take a brush to them  :whistle:
Teresa, I take note of proposions. I was trying to cover the hooves with dirt and dust. ;)

Love that you’re taking the time to do studies before doing the actual painting! Great muscle definition and “in action” poses. Horse #1 looks like he’s wearing a bad toupee!! Have you tried Dennis’ horse race painting class? Great way to learn to paint moving horses. Bravo on these!!!
