 Elizabeth, you certainly accomplished the WOW factor in your rendering of this difficult subject.  Using glitter for the holiday lights was a stroke of genius. :smart:

I was just about to toss my own because it looked dull with all that black background... maybe I’ll give the glitter idea a go and see what happens.

Whew... at last! Saved from the tossing pile, here it is:  Holiday Float.
I am submitting it only because I am a trooper :crazy2: and refuse to chicken-out
Cold pressed  140 lb. watercolor paper, gouache, watercolor, gesso, bleach, glitter, glue, watercolor crayons, a toothbrush and a household vacuum. ( to clean up the fastidious glitter...it was sticking around  like a bad case of the flu :2funny:
:thankyou:   Elizabeth for the glitter idea.Maria

    Your submission is beautifully done Maria.  I could not, for the life of me, see the front or the back of the boat. Now I am wondering whether I need a new screen.  I enlarged the picture and still could not see a beginning or end.  Perhaps my eyesight is getting poorer. Anyway, you did a wonderful job.

Here's my submission for the challenge done on black cardstock with acrylic paints and pastel pencils. I had a heck of a job taking the photograph for the black cardstock turned white in the photo.  I must have taken about 10 photos  :crazy2: . Anyway, this is the best I could do.
