Post your painting for January 2018 Challenge here.

1/ Post only one painting per person. Post only your finished paintings. If you need help, post it in the encourager section.

2/  :heeha: GIVE US YOUR TAKE ON THIS PHOTO, YOU MAY SIMPLIFY KEEPING IN MIND THAT AERIAL PERSPECTIVE IS THE CHALLENGE THIS MONTH!   :cheering:

3/ Any single paint medium may be used including; watercolour, acrylic, oil, watercolour pencil, brusho, inktense or pastel. If it is not specifically listed, DON'T USE IT! If you are unsure, PM me directly.

PLEASE NOTE: At this time do not combine w/c with w/c pencil, or gouache.
There will be changes forthcoming allowing the more advanced painter to combine these mediums under w/c. Thanks for your patience.

4/ When posting your entry, please list type of paint (w/c, oil, acrylic, w/c pencil, inktense) used. Appreciated as it may help someone with less experience.

5/HAVE FUN!!    :gl2:

Cheers, Val

Hi everyone happy new year
I haven’t been around for a while my dad passed away in December and I haven’t picked up a brush since. This challenge has piqued my interest so I’m going to have a go, so thanks to Val for picking such an interesting challenge and getting my juices flowing   :smitten::smitten:

So sorry to hear about your dad Neil. I understand as my mum passed one year ago this past December. Even if expected it still knocks the stuffing out of you. Glad to see you back, and happy this provides some inspiration for you.  :-*

Looking forward to seeing your rendition.

Neil my sincere condolences on the passing of your Dad, it is never easy to lose a loved one. However, throw yourself into your artwork for it is really very therapeutic and helps you to focus on something else.  Looking so forward to seeing more of your work soon.

Beautifully done Neil, excellent colourings. I like how you relocated the boat. The only rust I see is washed away in the colour of the water.  O0
