I use  a small light box 5" x 7", I used for my photographic slides. Good enough at this time but will get a larger one.

I have an Artograph light pad that was bought for me. It works great but is a bit awkward for me on the boat. Another piece that must be packed away after every use due to space requirements. Hopefully that won't be a problem for much longer.

The lightbox makes redrawing/tracing so quick and easy especially if you have vision issues.

Looking at the costs of the large  ones  I might have to wait awhile, my wife though very supportive thinks I spend too much on my new passion. I might buy Her one for her birthday

My husband made me a lightbox . Its a box with a light bulb in it with a piece of glass  over the opening in the box, only it gets very hot (maybe I should change the light bulb to one of the newer ones). Only bending over makes my back hurt and for some reason also makes me nauseous.
So have purchased the  new Lucy after Patrica and Val discussed the Lucida. If you are interested www.drawlucy.com  Although I haven't used it much as i put it away  after trying to draw a little statue of an elephant. It takes practice.  Only just took it out now to get the web address  (naughty me should use it more) although like Val I don't have a painting space just the kitchen table so things have to get packed away.
   
Val beautiful boat but I would get very sea sick. Enjoy your life and creating many beautiful paintings on it.

  I had mine out last week and forgot I had it out to show my setup!  I will make it a priority today, must start off the new year on the right footing!

Hi Val yes mine does have they flexible arm so can move it around easily
