Looking forward to following your progress on the sunflowers. Tuscany looks great. I'm thrilled that my"advice" was actually useful. ;)

:thankyou: Linley and Val! And Linley - your comments were incredibly useful - made a huge difference to the final painting!!! Great eye!! Val - thanks for helping ensure I didn't give up! Of course, I'll probably need the same amount of encouragement as I start to tackle the next one!!

Happy New Years!
Cheers,
Sharon

Yes, Sharon, I can only imagine the feeling of the weight being lifted off your shoulders and the thrill and excitement of what is still in store for you as the New Year unfolds.  All good and positive stuff.

Here are the red photo and sketch of Bill’s next Tuscan painting. Any thoughts before I start to paint? It’s going to have to be more impressionistic I think.

Looks like you have copied the shape quite well, Sharon.

Tonal values could be quite a challenge on those flower petals.  Good luck.

Thanks Mea. It’s going to be all about the layers - light to dark to achieve the right tones.
Cheers,
Sharon

I look forward to seeing your progress on this Sharon. I have seen something similar as a pen and wash which was very good to look at.
It made the flower really pop out of the picture.

:heeha: Great stuff Sharon! Being that I am a bit of a Vincent fan.... there are definitely sunflowers in my near future. I also tucked this photo away for just that purpose. That is one flower I don't see down here!  ;D

Really looking forward to seeing your rendition.   :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
