Showing my first and second attempt at dot pen portraiture. Please excuse pencil lines outside of first attempt, i erased a previous drawing and reused area. I am practicing shading with the dot pen.

Liz,

This is very intriguing.  Love it.  But please explain "dot pen."  The term is new to me.

Hi everyone, thank you for your kind comments. Very much appreciated..

Mea, the dot pen is a rechargeable pen which can be charge via a usb (cable provide) it takes cartridges. It has 2 speeds one press for slow, then double click for fast , to turn off you double click to slow then one click for off.. it takes the strain and pain that pointillism can cause to hand and wrist.

Liz,

Looks interesting, but I think this one new thing is something that I will pass on.  You are doing well with it, though.

:heeha: Wow! I'd never heard of anything like this pen. A bit too rich for me, but fascinating none the less. After watching the video I think it would take a bit to get used to the handling of it but if I had had something like this back in school.... I might actually have passed my art class!   :2funny:

From what i've seen of your work, you are very quickly getting the drift of it.

Thanks for showing me this.
Cheers, Val

Hi, thank you both.

I bought mine from the manufacturer via amazon. Its american and when the us uk exchange rate went hey wire after the uk referendum for brexit the manufacturer decide not to ship from the states instead they approached the saa to stock it. This meant the price increased considerably.. no way i could pay what the saa are asking and i am a member!  But the cartridges have come down in price - always a bright side 😂 take care
