Nolan and Dennis you live in a very beautiful country and I enjoyed painting a little piece of it in oil.

I agree  O0 That one tree you painted is a very young Pohutukawa Tree. They produce a very orange to bright red blooms, and are called the New Zealand Christmas Tree. Most trees are now preparing to come into bloom at the moment, although the great show will be about from the end of November. They are also mostly coastal trees. December-January they are at their best showing.

Here is a painting I did some time ago of Waiake Beach (where we used to live) with Rangitoto in the background. Rangitoto is a very young volcano that arose out of the sea about 600 years ago. I have been on the volcano and virtually only Pohutukawa trees grow on it.

Bragging bragging..... I did a frame for this painting myself, (with supervision from hubby) and I am very proud of myself.
Dennis your painting of the Pohutukawa tree is exquisite and I've decided to put a little bit of those flowers in my painting as well (copy cat )
Val and Sharon thank you so much for taking the time once again to look at my paintings and the wonderful comments.

   Dennis, your painting is outstanding to say the least. What really caught my attention was the way you painted the stone wall .... it is magnificently done.
