Finally got around to doing a SILVERPOINT drawing.  Used WC paper with a gesso ground (tinted with Acrylic Azo Gold).  Used an antique silver salt spoon to scratch out the scene.  Next time I will sand the gesso and add more coats - had too many brush strokes.  Very pleased with my first try, though.

Am going to do a better one for entry into next month's Miniature Show.

This second one I have named "Penny Point." (Yup, did it with a penny.)

I'm becoming obsessed with drawing with metal.

Thanks, Lynn, I printed up her definition of silverpoint for my senior citizen art class tomorrow.  Very helpful.

Thanks, Val, Mary Lou, and Patricia.  Check out the Forum MOTIVATION topic and see what my seniors did with Silverpoint.  They loved it - said it was the best class we had done. http://www.paintbasket.com/members/index.php?topic=9341.msg219106#msg219106

I was asked to share the silverpoint technique with a watercolor class today as I was interviewing their teacher for my newspaper column.  It was at the prestigious Honolulu Museum Art School.  I felt quite honored.

Thanks, Val.  Wish there were more hours in the day to try everything I'd like to do.
