I will be having a total Hip Replacement on October 23rd. Then I go into rehab. for a month. My goal is to see if if I can get out of this wheelchair and walk again, I want to be able to walk upstairs to my wonderful studio! I left it a number of years ago. The gal from the rehab place I'm going to Hooverwood said I can paint there since I will be there about a month. Okay here comes my easel, my glass palette, my cabinet that holds my oil paints a tote to carry all my brushes and mediums in and a folding table!!! No, I'm not moving in!!! :2funny: I sure hope I can fit that folding table and oh yeah did I say my lap top must go too. :2funny: wonder if I move the bed around I can fit things better. :smiley6600:.. I just can't not paint for a whole month!!!

:yippee:  Oh! Robynann, what wonderful news to hear of your impending hip replacement and the possibility of you walking again. Oh! How exciting that will be.  Just keep positive thoughts and "see" yourself walking.  I will be lifting you up in prayer and my thoughts will be with you on the 23rd.     Yes, take all your art paraphernalia for it is very therapeutic and will hasten your recovery.  After the operation and as soon as you are feeling good, please keep in touch to let us know how you are getting along and the very best of wishes to you.

Would that be the Hooverwood in Indianapolis? It has an excellent reputation from what I've heard. Would love to see their faces when you show up and the moving truck arrives!  :2funny:

I'm glad you decided to have the surgery. I'll be with you all the way kid.  O0
Cheers, Val

Thanks Patricia,Val and Gita for your kind words. Yes Val it is Hooverwood in Indianapolis . I'm so glad you heard of them. I kind of was expecting this huge Grand place when I visited them and found a homey clean rehab. Center. I  was a little let down but chose them anyways . A month away from home sounds like an eternity to me. Lol I'm quite scared about this whole ordeal. But the doctor promised a lollipop afterwards so I must go through with it! :2funny:

:heeha: A lollipop?! I'd make that conditional upon your choosing the flavour!  :licklips:     :2funny:

Exercise as best you can, keep those muscles strong. Lucky for you I spent all my money in New Orleans.... otherwise I could have come up there and worked your butt off!  :knuppel2:          Say!.... you with your hip and me with my back.... we could have been roomies!!!  :heeha:    :faint:     :2funny:
Cheers, Val

Sending lots of good wishes for a successful surgery and a creative recovery! My mom has had both hips replaced, as well as her knee. What a difference these operations can make to one's mobility. I know you'll be marching up to your studio in no time! Please stay in touch and let us know how you're doing...
Cheers,
Sharon

Will be praying that your hip replacement is successful, Robynann.  It's wonderful that you will be able to paint while in rehab.
