I am planning to do a series of urban sketches. Shari Blaukopf ( craftsy.com) is a wonderful teacher for getting into this subject. Since I love pen and ink with line wash, I am enjoying her video classes. This is the Berlin Cathedral church called "Berliner Dom", the biggest church of Berlin.
As always all comments are most welcome.

Very nicely done Gita, I like the composition.  O0     This is something I will have a go at. Have wanted to for a while. I think line and wash is perfect for Urban/Plein Air sketching. I guess I'll find out how well it works with pastel as well!  ;D
Cheers, Val

Thank you Val, I think pastels would go well, too. For me pastels are a second choice since the colours could smudge during transportation. In this class Shari Blaukopf uses a platinum carbon pen which can be refilled with ink. I use a normal ink proof fountain pen.
This is another one based on a  free reference photo from Linda Cookson from the free photos section take in Galaway city. Thank you Linda for sharing the photo with us. I chose to add some people to it.

You might find another thread with similar information. I exactly don't know what's happening when I upload the pictures.
I would love to hear your thoughts to this.

Curaçao- done from a licence free pixabay Photo. I would love to do this in real. I tried a sienna brown as ink instead of the usual black.

Like the brown ink.... it's not as dramatic as the black... more homey/ understated/ comfortable. An entirely different mood. All of these sketches are impressive. By the way... I did try to send the wallaby photos to you via vasa online but somehow I don't think they reached you. Never mind, I'll have another go at putting the wallabies up as PB ref photos. Maybe the computer won't have a hissy fit this time!

I know this place! That's the market along the wharf where the boats come in to sell fresh veggies, fish and the like! It's just down from the immigration office by the corner! How lovely!  :heeha:

I loved Curacao. I'll have to see if I can find some of the photos for you. Beautiful!
