I don’t do watercolours Sharon so it’s hard for me to comment technically but I can see and it looks great I love the way you take onboard the comments and make the improvements well done

Great painting Sharon! Only one observation- the lips are a bit too reddish for a man.... what do you think?

I have to comment again.  I was looking at this on my phone last night.  Now today I am looking at it on my laptop and I have to compliment you Sharon..  The subtle wrinkles under his eyes and the slight line of his bifocals, well, just amazing work!! I think he looks amazing... and in my opinion, I would put the brush down.

:heeha:   There you go! You've captured him. I would send a photo through to the hotel and see how they feel about it before touching it again.  O0

Thank you Mea, Gita, Neil, Mary Lou and Val! It's feeling good to put the paintbrush down on this one for now. I think you're right, Val - I'll let the hotel take a look and tell me what they think. Gita - the lips seem redder in the photo - in real life they show as a light pink. I want to retake the photo when the light is brighter here today. Mea - I agree, his eyebrows are odd...but that's what they are in the photo so I want to be true to what he looked like, unless the hotel tells me otherwise. Mary Lou - what's hard in a painting like this is scrutinizing the photo to try to find all of those wrinkles - although I tried not to add all of them to give him a little more youthful appearance! Neil - I don't know what I'd do without the PB comments - they're the best and I always try to do my best to incorporate them - they never steer me wrong! Teresa - making adjustments with watercolor can be so challenging! But I'm using 300 lb paper for these portraits - they're more expensive but I can scrub away to my heart's content in order to make those changes!

I'll let you know what the hotel says!! Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Sharon

:thankyou: Dennis and Val! The hotel is going to send me the frames they have in stock. I’m trying to convince them to let my framer create new frames. Hope they allow that. I’ve no idea what the frames they have look like!!
Cheers,
Sharon

Haha, Val!
And thank you Teresa and Patricia! And since I learned watercolors first, Teresa, it’s actually the easiest medium for me! Which goes against what everyone says about it being the hardest! And Patricia - I give so much of my success to Dennis, Nolan and my PB Family.  No way I would be as good as I am without all of you!!
Cheers,
Sharon
