Louisa,

Without seeing the reference photo, it's hard to say what might be wrong.  Sure looks good to me.  Those wings are incredible!  Nice muted background.

Louisa

Looks like a few more dark areas in the clump of grasses and more dark on his right wing will make it complete. And a bit more of the darker brown on the other wing (less of the white patches).

It is so close to perfect!

Excellent Louisa    I am very familiar with Fish Eagles and can even imitate their cry. I am just missing the final hook of the beak as well as  the shading under the chest.  O0

Excellent start Louisa! A bit too blue on his right wing, just needs toning down a bit. His left wing needs a bit darker gray and less white, also tone down the brown a bit. A bit stronger dark in the shadow area under the chest and body should do it.

A few more darks in the reeds behind and reflection and your away!
Cheers, Val

It's difficult sometimes to give my thoughts as the difference in colour between my laptop and my tablet can be quite startling at times. Different screens can make such a difference so I just make suggestions and leave it to you to decide.

I feel this one is going to come out great!   O0

Why are you pulling yourself down on Facebook post?  While 99% will see nothing wrong with it, now they are looking for faults.  :heeha:
It is NOT necessary to be perfect - there is no perfect painting anywhere. There will always be someone who disagrees, rightly or wrongly.
Many top professionals purposely do not paint straight lines.
Remember what I always have said - "You are making a painting, not a photograph!"

Keep remarks to this Forum only - not publically.

    Louisa, I saw your painting in the Gallery and I thought, "Wow, Louisa is really putting out great work". I think you have really blossomed in your endeavours and with a few tweaks suggested you will have a gorgeous painting that you and your client can be proud of.

I am sorry Dennis, sometimes I can be really stupid, won't do it again :crazy2:
Thank you everyone for the nice comments and good advise, I tweaked the painting and it looked so much better. I will post it later when Dennis is not cross with me anymore.
