Hello everyone,
I have been off a very long time i know. I decided to paint every now and then. Afterall, i have alot of experience, but it's difficult to do one after the other. Here are a few i've done the past couple months again after a layoff. That seems to be the cycle.
The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

Thanks Mysti Vale...was that you're name alll along? (Val?).
It just seems that if i take a break for maybe 6 months even, that when i paint a few i do a much better job at it. Kind of keeping that idea in mind to repeat.

Hi, Pat.

Sorry for the confusion.  I am fairly new here and just working my way through Nolan's pencil drawing course.  Mysti Vale is my nom de plume. Val is around, but she is on a cool vacation to New Orleans (N'awlins?) right now.

I'm up near Jacksonville in OP, so your pics from your anniversary trip there caught my eye.   I read a bit further and saw you had stopped.  It was such a coincidence that right after I was looking at your photos and art work, you came back with stunning paintings!  They are gorgeous!  You really have an eye for color. O0 I am glad you are painting again.

Welcome back, Pat! I'm new to oils and appreciate your comment it's hard to do one after the other. The ones you've posted are terrific - especially that 2nd one! Sorry about the layoff...hope a new job comes quickly...
Cheers,
Sharon

Thanks for your kind repliies.
Mysti Vale. Oh, you're not too far away from me! Thanks so much for you're nice comment!
And thank YOu Straynative very much.
SacgalSharon.....I';m alreayd planning on doing another one again..................by the way, i decided i didn't like the trees in that painting of the mill. I took them both out and you can't tell at all. I just like the simpler compostion without them. Going to do a very WHITE bird one. I have never done anything that's so full of white in the painting. I'll add a bit of sky color to the shadows on it and keep the LIT part warmer.
