Well, I do like the pastel pencils better than the hard pastels that I tried last year.

These are Faber Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils - 36 pack.  Can't say that I really like the colors, but I can get used to them.

I did a couple trial pieces so will post them when I get time.

Here's the third one I did.  Made a mess of the background.  Just did not know what to do.

I hope Dennis's Pastel classes are adaptable for pencils?  I need some lessons.

Mea that tree looks great! I'd love to give advice on the background... but I have no knowledge to share :-)

Love your tree!  The bunny is a nice touch.

    Mea, your tree is fantastic and once you get used to pastels, you will love them for they are so forgiving.  With regard to the background, you could blend it which would be a very attractive background to your focal point.

OK, Patricia, I will see if I can blend it.  It does look too streaky.

Thanks, Mez.  I will watch a few of Dennis pastel videos to try to improve my backgrounding.

Thanks, Mysti.  I love rabbits.

That is very good mea. If you do everything in pencil, they will be eaten up fast, and they are expensive. Background can be quickly done with soft sticks, or better yet, pan pastels, saving those pencils for the details.

Thanks, Barry.  I get what you mean.  I have some pastel sticks that I can use for backgrounds for now.  Don't want to invest a lot until I am sure I want to use pastels more often.
