Post your painting for August 2017 Challenge here.

1/ Post only one painting per person. Post only your finished paintings. If you need help, post it in the encourager section.

2/ Do your best to keep your entry as close as possible to the original Challenge photo. Please DO NOT make additions to the subject unless otherwise stated. We try to maintain a fair and equal field for all entries from beginner to advanced.
Feel free to use the subject photos in your own creation BUT place it in the Encourager section, NOT in the challenge. Thank you for your ongoing support of these challenges.

3/ Any single paint medium may be used including; watercolour, acrylic, oil, watercolour pencil, brusho, inktense or pastel. If it is not specifically listed, DON'T USE IT! If you are unsure, PM me directly.

PLEASE NOTE: At this time do not combine w/c with w/c pencil, or gouache.
There will be changes forthcoming allowing the more advanced painter to combine these mediums under w/c. Thanks for your patience.

4/ When posting your entry, please list type of paint (w/c, oil, acrylic, w/c pencil, inktense) used. Appreciated as it may help someone with less experience.

5/HAVE FUN!!

***
Please note #2 above. You may change the scene to suit (simplify) but do not make additions.

Neil,

This looks really good.  Smart move to eliminate the jeep and sign.

:thankyou: Ladies you can't knock me for trying I seem to be able to follow the classes ok where every step is explained but as soon as I'm left to my own devices I seem to struggle just practice I suppose. If only I had eliminated the boat and the tree as well I may of had something oh well back to the canvas  :painting:

I think it looks great the way it is.  O0   Don't touch my boat!  :knuppel2:     :2funny:

If you decide to have another go one day, perhaps brighten up the colouring of the water. You really did a great job Neil. Truth be told I still go through conniptions whenever I start something of my own design. I suppose I'll get over it one day with practice..... if not, I sure hope Dennis had his rubber room added on the house!  :goofy:

 Neil... your work shows careful attention to details, you nailed the light source (a difficult task), and dispensed with the unnecessary objects... all in all, a pleasant rendition of the subject.  I so much wanted to jump into the little guy and take it out for a spin,  after digging my toes in the warm sand.

By the way,  :smart: I learned a new word today: Conniptions... I've had a few "conniptions" in my lifetime, but never knew how to describe my tantrums with such concise terminology; loved it!
:thankyou:  Thank you Val for your contribution to my humble vocabulary.
