Copied from a book on Cape Arid in Western Australia. Husband and wife team who have spent years drawing the local vegetation. Philippa & blank Nikulinsky. Reminded of places I've been so much that I had to copy a small portion (for personal use only.... no intention of infringing copyright.) This tiny drawing  (about an eighth of one of their double spread pages) took 6 hours. What wonderful dedication to stick at it for years to produce a whole book, in colour too.

Linley,

What a masterful job you did on this.  It has such a calming effect on me.

I do not use "masterful" very often.  But it seems to fit this instance.

:thankyou: everyone for your kind comments. But all I can say is.... you should see the book! Wish I could afford to buy it. The whole book has that calming effect, Mea.

Your dedication has paid off, Linley - this is fantastic!! And copying old masters is how many artists honed their skills in former times. I think it's the perfect way to perfect your skills - and it's paying off!
Cheers,
Sharon

Thanks Sharon... I have gotten to the stage where I can draw/copy most photos and other people's art work, in outline anyway. It's translating it into paint that causes angst and frustration. I'd also like to do some original drawings and paintings... I'm still working on that. Watching Gita's dedication and the expansion of her capabilities is quite inspiring too. You and she are becoming "role models". Well, all the Forum contributors are inspiring really. I love this site.  :smitten:
