Thanks Val, for putting this ins the July challenge. Actually, I wanted to try this in WC in the evening, but did not manage it timewise.
Sharon, at present I do not have time to paint in a detailed manner. So, I get some satisfaction in painting these fast paintings and this way I also keep in touch with my art.
This is another cute gold hammer. I used a chinese calligraphy brush for this pairing, which I could go over the paper in a flat angle. That created a nice look for the feathers. The details were done with the little Windsor brush.

Gita

This is the cutest little bird.  Love the colors.  Great feather shapes. Great tree limbs.

This is really terrific.

Thank you for your comments Mea, Val, Patricia, Sharon! :smitten:
Feathers are easy to paint since there are no strict rules for colours or shapes according to my opinion.  :smiley6600:
Just added some background. I find it more interesting  this way. Love your comments as always.

I love it with the bit of color directly behind the bird. Looks great!

Yes, Gita, the addition of the subtle background is excellent.

Close up of a cow - pen and ink with line wash.
Felt good to hold the pen in my fingers again. Love to hear your comments.

Gita, Just now having a look at your FABULOUS sketches.  I just adore them!! I think the quickness gives them some fresh spontaneity.  I especially love the one with the hanging lamp--totally charming.  I have the same set as you and the Koi set.  Love both for travel!  I agree with Mea, you are also great at painting a picture with words :)

Well, I loved Birds,  but I'm over the moon about your cow. You've really caught her cowishness. So many people draw and paint cattle as if they are still life, but I half expect this one to swish her tail and start chewing her cud!
