I had sometime to swing my brushes... had a photo of Monets garden and tried my best to make this impressionistical. I started this as a water colour without any masking fluid, so that I had to use some acrylic for the whites. Please do tell me your thoughts.

Its lovely Gita, I like the style of painting   :smitten:
I just find to my eye your water seems to be heading downwards instead of across or is that how it should be?

Thank you Kathy.
Yes i see your point Win, I think the water reflections in the front give this impression of water flowing downwards. Maybe I should do something about it. Thanks! I could use some pastels...

Gita, just add some horizontal streaks on your water.  That happens to be one of my favorite Monet paintings.  :) ~Liz

I love it, Gita.  So soft and serene.  Beautiful use of grey tones.

Thanks Liz for the suggestion. Have to try this carefully. I had been to Monets garden two years ago in Giverny and I would have preferred to paint this plein air rather than form a photo!

Mea, lovely that you are back! You were on vacation, I guess. I missed your paintings!

:heeha:   Yay Gita!!! Loving the looseness of this.  O0

I have a different view of Monet's lily pond with the bridge. I am in midst stride with the drawing. I set it aside when I delved into the succulent. Had to stop that before I was driven to go in search for an opium den!

My Monet is going to be attempted in pastel, do I qualify to be categorized as a masochist?   :banghead:       :2funny:
