We are in the middle of Winter in in Australia.
But, we had beautiful weather right up until the end of Autumn. I started this painting weeks ago.

Last week, my oldest friend lost her 21 year old daughter to a brain tumour.
I feel so desperately unhappy that she has to go through the unbelievable pain that we have had to endure..losing a child.
I have included my friend's daughter, my Carli and my Dad in this painting...hoping that they are all together and enjoying the sun.

Terri, what a heartbreaking thing to endure. Your friend is fortunate to have you in her life as someone who truly understands her devastating loss. I hope you have found, as I have in my own bereavement, that painting can be a very comforting activity.

I love your painting, but I do wonder why the sea is so dark, given the clear skies.

Hugs.

Terri, I am so overwhelmed by your story and that of your dear friend.  I don't really know how people endure such pain.   You have taken on a giant task (quite successfully) of painting SO MANY little people.  Great job.  I love that all your loved ones are together enjoying themselves.  I know you will see them some day.  With love and admiration for you--Lynn

Oh! Terri, my heart goes out to you and now your friend who has lost her child at such a young age too. The pain must be unbearable, which my mother always said, at the loss of my sister to cancer. However, console yourself in the thought that we shall all meet again. Art is a wonderful way to help in these sad times. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing.

Terri, I admire your strength. It must be very very hard to go through the loss of a child.
I find your way of taking farewell from a loving person whom you have lost is very moving. Your support to your friend after the loss of their child is priceless.   :1hug:
